This is the brand new men's Speedgoat 5 trail running shoe. The Speedgoat 5 is an out-and-out trail running shoe with a good level of cushioning that excels over technical terrain. Compared with a Challenger, the Speedgoat 5 has more aggressive grip and is a little less cushioned, which means you have plenty of feel for the ground and can move quickly over more difficult broken ground.

The Speedgoat 5 has an early stage meta rocker, which is designed to encourage you forward through your gait cycle and all Hoka One One trail running shoes have a low heel to forefoot drop. The meta rocker, lower heel to forefoot drop and incredibly light weight are very good features for keeping you light on your feet and can help improve your running form.

Hoka designed the new Speedgoat 5 to be best used on mixed trail and some softer ground, due to the sufficient amount of grip from the Vibram Megagrip outsole. We do not recommend extended periods on the pavement, where styles like the Challenger ATR 6 would be best. This is due to preventing wear of the Speedgoat 5 studs.

There is some more room in the toe box of the standard width Speedgoat 5, which is great news for foot function and allowing your feet to spread out on impact and when getting hot. The men's wide Speedgoat 5 is also available via this link.
